ONE STEP ABOVE THE TYPICAL CONSULTING FIRM
Most consulting firms start up and grow from one or two people to a number of consultants and administrators over a period of time. They are essentially entrepreneurs who learn to operate in a group environment. They adapt over time to the various conditions they encounter.
P3 has chosen a different path. Our experience has taught us the value of a planned and strategic approach to meeting the market and our client needs. Our experience has taught us about the Core Functions of Human Resources and it is our primary operating focus. But we know that there are a number of ancillary services that relate to these Core Functions. If we have resources that can help the client with the Extended Services we will be a more valuable resource. Consequently, P3 has taken steps to provide resources for this mix of Core and Extended Services. We see this as a planned process and not just “rolling with the punches”.
In addition to our Operating Partners, we have chosen to extend our resource base to include a number of individuals that have become our Advisory Team Partners. These individuals are ‘seasoned practitioners’ in their technical fields and their industries. The advisory role is to alert P3 on trends, issues and opportunities that will make our organization a more effective resource for our clients. We see it as a way to have open dialog about our direction, about the tools in our ‘kit-bag’, and the grooming of our operating partners. Depending on the circumstances our Advisory Team Partners may even be a consultant from time-to-time.
This team adds another dimension to our eyes and ears. It is our Strategic External Network that helps us understand the market and the organizations who are not yet our clients. It is one more resource that we have consciously established to be one step above the typical consulting firm. Our change process is planned and executed. It doesn’t just happen.
